Atiya Jaha-Rashidi, RN, MHA
Atiya Jaha-Rashidi, RN, MHA is the Chief Equity Officer and Vice President of Community Relations at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and Children’s Hospital of New Jersey. Atiya has nearly 30 years of experience leading and coordinating community outreach initiatives at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and Children’s Hospital of New Jersey where she worked in numerous leadership roles, including Director of Clinical Engagement of the Community, Director of Patient Experience, Interim Vice President of Community Relations and Director of Special Projects. In 2021,
Atiya was named Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and Children’s Hospital of New Jersey’s first Chief Equity Officer. As Chief Equity Officer, Atiya oversees the development and implementation of employee and community initiatives that foster equity. In addition, she continues to develop strong community partnerships with the aim of improving population health and reducing health care disparities.

Atiya is a passionate advocate for the community. She notably, worked with Newark Mayor Ras J. Baraka’s Centers of Hope Initiative, and served as the program administrator for the Hire Newark Employment Ready Boot Camp program, which created job opportunities for economic growth and income stability in the City of Newark. Through the development of community partnerships and a steadfast commitment to decrease healthcare disparities and increase health promotion and access to care.
Atiya’s contributions have helped to strengthen community-level approaches to improve health and access to care for the residents of Newark and surrounding communities. She currently leads the hospital’s annual signature community health outreach events which include: “Ray Murphy Men’s Health Night”, “Women’s Health Day” and “The Alma Beatty Health and Wellness Fair”. All three events reach hundreds of residents from the Greater Newark area with essential health information, screenings, and access to care.
Atiya currently serves as President-Elect of the National Association of Health Services Executives, 2nd Vice President of the Middlesex Regional Black Nurses Association, and is the Board of Commissioner Chair for the Mary Elizabeth Mahoney Health Center. She is also an active board member of the Newark LGBTQ Community Center, The GEM Project, HBCU Scholarship Ride and NAACP Newark Branch, Health Committee, and has served on various non-for-profit boards, community-based organizations.
Atiya is a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health Administration from Rutgers University and a Master of Healthcare Administration from University of Arizona Global Campus. She is a product of Hillside Township’s school system, where attended George Washington Elementary School and Hillside High School. Now a resident of Newark for 25 years, Atiya is committed to galvanize efforts to aggressively Reinvest, Rebuild, and Revitalize Newark. She a proud mother of 3, and an active member of the illustrious Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. In her spare time she fundraises for Newark scholars attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities, and as the president and founding member of Sisters United Bike Club, she cycles hundreds of miles across the nation to promote women’s health and wellness.

Dr. Lois V. Greene is a visionary leader in healthcare, passionately dedicated to excellence in nursing and healthcare delivery. As the Senior Vice President of Wellness, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at University Hospital, Dr. Greene's career encompasses a wide array of clinical settings, from Emergency and Ambulatory Care to Oncology and Home Health.
Her leadership is rooted in her commitment to advancing patient care, enhancing population health, and ensuring healthcare accessibility for all. Beyond her hospital role, Dr. Greene’s leadership reaches into the broader healthcare and scientific communities.
She has served as a board member for the American Heart Association, Northeast Region, and as the past President of the Concerned Black Nurses of Newark. She currently serves as Secretary of the Chi Eta Phi Nursing Sorority, Incorporated, and holds board positions with Students 2 Science, Mary Eliza Mahoney Health Center, and the Healthcare Foundation of the Oranges. Dr. Greene is also the Immediate Past President of the New Jersey State Nurses Association Region 3, where she remains a strong advocate for advancing the nursing profession.
Dr. Greene's healthcare ministry is guided by the core values of love, compassion, justice, and reverence for life, deeply inspired by her faith. Her commitment to global health has led her to provide clinical services in Kenya, Peru, and Jamaica, WI, impacting lives around the world. An educator and mentor at heart, Dr. Greene empowers the next generation of nurses and healthcare professionals, Inspiring them to pursue excellence in both service and leadership.
Dan Misa, MSN, RN, CEN, CPEN, NE-BC, NPD-BC
Dan Misa is a night shift nurse educator and administrative manager (nursing supervisor) at Atlantic Health System - Chilton Medical Center in Pompton Plains, NJ. In addition, he still picks up shifts in the Emergency Department, either working at the stretcher-side or covering as charge nurse.
Mr. Misa received his MSN degree in nursing leadership and management and his BS in nursing degree from the School of Nursing and College of Nursing, respectively, from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey.
He is the current treasurer for the New Jersey State Nurses Association (NJSNA) and the Institute for Nursing (IFN), serving as the chairperson of the NJSNA & IFN Joint Finance Committee. Mr. Misa has previously served as representative to the American Nurses Association Membership Assembly, president of NJSNA Region 1 (Morris, Sussex, Passaic, and Warren Counties) and chairperson of the Nominations Committee at the state and region levels. He also currently serves as the chairperson of the New Jersey Emergency Nurses Association Membership Committee, previously holding positions as Northern New Jersey Chapter President and chairperson of the ENA Resolutions Committee. He is a frequent speaker for NJNS, having presented on the topics of emergency nursing, travel nursing, and men in the nursing profession at past annual conventions and at a Council of School Participants (COSP) event.
Mr. Misa holds certifications in emergency nursing, pediatric emergency nursing, nursing professional development, and as a nurse executive, and he is pleased to support NJNS and its nursing student members on behalf of NJSNA.
Dr. Roseminda Santee, DNP, MA, RN, CNE, NEA-BC, ANEF
Dean Santee professional accomplishments:
Dean, RWJBarnabas Health/Trinitas School of Nursing. Prior to becoming Dean, Dr. Santee was faculty for Trinitas School of Nursing for 15 years. RN in New Jersey, New York (inactive), and Louisiana (inactive) Clinical specialty- Maternal and Child Nursing, Critical Care in US Army. Dr Santee has experience as a staff nurse, nurse manager, faculty, and Director of Nursing. She spent 13 years as a nurse in the US Army Reserved Component, rank of Major. Certified nationally as a nurse educator (CNE), Board certified nationally as a Nurse Executive, Advanced (NEA-BC). Dean Santee is a Fellow of the Academy of Nursing Education, NLN (ANEF).
She currently on the Board of Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) of the National League for Nursing Currently on the Board of the New Jersey League for Nursing. Dr. Santee is Founder of Philippine Nurses Association of NJ (1976). Dr. Santee is Founder of Philippine Nurse Association of America (1979) and serves as the Parliamentarian for Philippine Nurses of America Foundation. Dr. Santee is a Founding member of the National Consortium of Academic Nurse Educators (NC-ANE).
On a personal note, Dr. Santee Immigrant from Philippines; basic nursing education in the Philippines; MA Nursing from NYU and DNP from Fairleigh Dickinson U. She is a Widow of wonderful man of American /Italian Irish descent. Dr. Santee has Two children, 5 grandchildren (ages 26 to 14), 1 great grandson. Her daughter is a physician, graduate of New York University School of Medicine; practicing in Pennsylvania. Served in the US Army for 7 years. Dr. Santee’s son is a graduate of NYU. He is vice-president for Marketing, web-based educational company.
